  1. Prewriting-brainstorm, web, sketch, outline, mapping
  2. Drafting (writing)-rough, get ideas down and don’t worry about conventions
  3. Revising-analyze ideas, reorder, eliminate, add detail and support
  4. Editing-fix conventions, spelling, capitals, punctuation
